But now SoundCloud has decided to pay artists more equitably.
Thanks to his new system called fan-powered royalties, artists will be paid not for the amount of plays but based on the actual listening habits of your devoted fans.
The more your fans listen to your music on SoundCloud, the more you get paid.
Fan-powered royalties level the playing field so independent artists can compete.
Payments to artists are based on a fan’s overall listening time. The fans you see on the Insights Dashboard are the fans contributing to your monthly royalties!
In this way, in addition to earning more, you have the opportunity to create a deeper connection with the fans who support your growth.
You get paid by real fans who stream your music. Bots and fake reproductions don’t count.
Independent artists who monetize directly with SoundCloud are eligible for fan-powered royalties. These artists include Pro Unlimited subscribers in the Premier Program, Repost by SoundCloud subscribers and members of Repost Select.
Fan-powered royalties will replace the old model beginning April 1, 2021.
